Happy Birthday
blue_eye
Hope you have a fantastic birthday
It's seemed like a very long winter this year....alot of snow and very little sunshine. I've talked to several friends who have also mentioned the lack of sunshine. We're all tired and a little down. Wondering if we're suffering from the winter blues and lack of sunshine.

I was gone most of the day so Lucy enjoyed her evening walk. One of my neighbors was carrying out their birds (in a cage) and Lucy I'm sure thought dessert was leaving on the elevator. My neighbors are going to Alaska for several weeks.
It started raining when I was out for my evening walk but fortunately did not start pouring rain until just after I got back.

It's been very humid the last week and the rugs and ceramic floors in the condo are actually wet. The hall carpets were steam cleaned on a very hot day, so I'm this has increased the humidity in the halls. Tomorrow Hydro One will be installing Smart Meters so the electricity will be off in each unit for 2-3 minutes in the afternoon (anytime after 1:00 pm), but we don't know the exact time.....I'm working at home tomorrow on several year ends on my computer so I will have to save my work frequently and hope the hydro being shut off while my air conditioner does not damage it. Temperature in the unit goes up to the high 90's, due to the morning sun so I have to run my air conditioner.
Lucy
Lucy is getting her nails trimmed at the vet tomorrow am - she is also getting weighed. I've tried to trim her nails at home and it's next to impossible. I got Lucy at the local pound 3 days after Bob died from cancer. I was donating Bob's supplies to the shelter and was immediately drawn to Lucy. I think Bob wanted me to adopt Lucy alot sooner than I was planning on getting another cat. Lucy was approximately 2 pounds overweight (nicknamed the fat calico at the pound). The vet and I tried to diet her but she ended up gaining approximately 6 pounds. In January of this year, the vet consulted with a nutritionist and we finally found a diet food which seems to work. Lucy has lost approximately 2 pounds. I'm trying to walk her on a daily basis in the condo halls on a leash .
I've spent the last several days working on the puzzle...I'm very slowly making progress, but getting extremely frustrated....I've sorted the pieces according to colour, trying to work with the various pieces according to shape, but figure this is taking way too long....there's got to be an easier way.
I haven't felt like walking because of the humid weather - normally I will walk even if it is humid, but the last couple of days I haven't. I have a back injury and walking makes it feel better so naturally - no walking and my lower back is sore so now I'm in pain. After I hit the post button, I'm going to put on my walking shoes, bring a bottle of water with me and go for a walk.
I'm currently in the process of cleaning out some cupboards in the basement...turns out all of the stuff in mine....alot of textbooks/assignments when I was an accounting student and also alot of photographs I took from my various trips (Europe, Western Canada, Eastern Canada, England). I'm looking forward to looking at the old photographs and not looking forward to the pile of shredding I'm facing
Well time to go for a walk and then to face the pile of shredding

I see Murphy's Law is working overtime....I just tried to post an entry....but received the message, page cannot be displayed so I lot the entire entry....well 2nd try....I'm not sure my mood is still relaxed or more like frustrated.
I got up at 6:30 am this morning so I could go to the local farmers market held in town each Saturday am. It opens at 7:00 am. I got there around 7:30....had to have my morning cup of coffee to make me mobile. I bought a basket of cherries, basket of potatoes, 2 boxes of strawberries, 2 bunches of radishes and 1 box of peas. The produce is more expensive than the local grocery stores, but I prefer the market because the fruit and vegetables are locally grown & fresh.
A local book dealer also rents a table at the market - buys antique and out of print books. I had spoken to the owner earlier in the week to see if she was interested in buying a 1920 first edition plumbing book. I had done some research on the web about the book to see approximately what it was worth....she offered me $10 which was a fair price. I sold her the book this morning and the $10 helped pay for my purchases.
Only downside.....it was rainly and humid....my glasses kept fogging up. It's a long weekend in Canada (sort of) so I should have know that it would be raining. It seems to rain every long weekend. July 1 - Canada Day is on Tuesday. All businesses and stores are supposed to be closed on Tuesday. However alot of businesses are open on Monday.....but some are not....result Long Weekend?
